Page 1 of 7 MSMIT DegreeBonnie L. Gawf MSMIT Graduate Becomes the CIO of MontereyAfter graduating with her B.S. in math from CSU Monterey Bay, Bonnie L. Gawf went on to work for the City of Monterey as a City Clerk. While working as City Clerk Bonnie noticed that her position began to change. Files that were once kept organized in cabinets were now becoming digital. When this change began to take place, Bonnie felt a need to understand the combination of technology and business. She began researching many different Universities and programs, both physically and online. She finally came to the decision that ITCD’s MSMIT program was the perfect fit. Bonnie states that going into this program fit her needs and allowed her to understand technology better. After completing the MSMIT program Bonnie took over the Records Management Program as a City Clerk; this position involved content organization, databases, email, and other technology that needed to be streamlined. Bonnie’s ability to create a new resource for City Hall was the driving force that created the Information Resource Systems position. Bonnie is now the CIO of Monterey and she credits the MSMIT program for giving her the skills and knowledge necessary to execute the demands of her job.
