The School of Information Technology and Communications Design offers several certificate programs at California State University, Monterey Bay through the Office of Extended Education.

The Certificate of Academic Achievement (CAA) programs:

Certificate in System Administration
Certificate in Instructional Design Technology
Certificate in Computer Networking

These certificates offer non-matriculated students in the community the opportunity to earn academic certificates in areas of interest that are fully recognized by CSUMB.

CAA Program requirements typically involve fulfillment of outcomes equivalent to 4 or 5 specified CSUMB courses. Minimum required units are 17.

The Certificate of Competency (CC) programs

Certificate of Project Management
Certificate of Global Technology Management

Certificate of English Communication for Technology and Business
Certificate of Global Service and Outsourcing (three levels: 1. IT Professional, 2. Management, 3. Expert)

These Certificate of Competency program are designed for industry professionals.  Students are expected to fulfill the outcomes either by taking CSUMB courses, by portfolio assessments or by examination.

Courses designed to fulfill these certificates requirements are delivered in a variety of formats to accommodate the needs of the students, including traditional face-to-face, e-learning and blended-learning classes.
