Dr. Eric Yihching Tao is the Director and Professor of the School of Information Technology and Communication Design at California State University Monterey Bay. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of California, Irvine, M.S. in Computer and Information Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology and B.S. in Electrical Engineer from National Sun Yat Sen University (Taiwan, ROC). His expertise and research interests include electronic commerce development and strategies, information systems, multimedia databases, e-learning, and globalization. He is the founder and worked as CEO of WingTech Corporation (1994-98), a technical consulting firm that specialized in industrial and medical image-based inspection system. He is also the founder and director of OpenSystemLab at CSUMB, a research and development laboratory for open source technology and strategies.
